This is a really exciting opportunity to become a part of a growing Occupational Therapy Service within a new Dementia Centre of Excellence in Worthing. You will be joining a team of experienced dementia Occupational Therapists, working as an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team which cares for patients with dementia presenting with complex needs.

Main duties of the job
The newly opened unit places a strong emphasis on the delivery of high quality, evidence based and person centred care with a focus on safety and wellbeing and recovery. Patients and their family and friend carers are always encouraged to take a full and active part in their treatment during their stay with us.
This is a varied role that will offer you the opportunity to manage a complex caseload and provide specialist assessment and tailored Occupational Therapy interventions. Within this role you will also develop leadership and supervision skills within a cutting edge environment which has been specifically designed to support patients with advanced dementia. We are looking for individuals who are dynamic, compassionate, good communicators and who are able to demonstrate a holistic and person centred approach to their work.

The post holder is responsible for holding a caseload of up to 10 patients who are presenting with a complex dementia presentation.
The OT is a crucial part of the MDT, contributing to meetings, ongoing care interventions and liaison with family / carers.
There is an opportunity to provide supervision to activity staff, students and peer support to colleagues on the unit. The OT is integral to planning and running the wards activity programme alongside the wards activity worker.
