To deliver evidence based holistic care to people within the context of a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency community mental health service.

To hold a clinical caseload providing comprehensive assessment, care and treatment to clients referred to the Community Mental Health Team in accordance with Part 2 of the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010.

Promote a positive working culture, working collaboratively with service users ensuring that their views and ideas are heard and equal.

Foster robust, open and positive working relationships with all partners, in particular, Local Authority and other mental health services and the 3rd sector, ensuring that all partners are treated with dignity and respect.

Proactively contribute to the continuing improvement and development of community mental health services, within an environment that welcomes new ideas and listens to everyone.

Be guided by broad operational policies.

Frequently work as a lone worker.

Main duties of the job

  • To take responsibility for a clinical caseload in accordance with the Mental Health Measures.
  • Foster robust working relationships with all partners.
  • Contribute to the continuing improvement and development of mental health services.

  • We are looking for highly motivated individual to join our well established multi- disciplinary CMHT. The main purpose of this role is to deliver evidenced based, holistic care to individuals suffering with mental health issues. The post will be based in Maritime Resource Centre with strong links with Local Authority, the inpatient wards at Royal Glamorgan Hospital, our GP partners and third sector organisations.

    The post holder will need to hold a first level qualification in mental health nursing and have excellent clinical knowledge and experience of mental health and the Mental Health Measure 2010. Excellent communication, listening and organisational skills are essential along with MDT working, in a challenging and changeable environment.

    The successful applicant will need to demonstrate sound clinical knowledge and awareness of current clinical practice in mental health, have excellent clinical assessment skills and have sound knowledge of safeguarding procedures. The post holder will be expected to manage a caseload of patients with mental health issues, subject to CTP and will work under the leadership of a Band 7 Team Leader.

    Experience

    Essential

    • Evidence of achievement in clinical practice within the area of speciality e.g. adult mental health, older adult mental health.
    • Sound working knowledge of the legal and policy framework underpinning mental health service provision


    Desirable

    • Experience of working within a multi-agency community mental health setting.
    • Previous experience of caseload management


    Qualifications

    • Qualified registrant - Registered Mental Health Nurse
    • Degree or the equivalent level of qualification

    • Venepuncture trained
    • Therapies qualification
    • ECG Trained
