We are looking for postgraduate Psychology students, to join our Psychology Team within Bristol Dementia Wellbeing Service.
You will have a passion and interest in mental health, providing high standards of primary care support and assessment for service users with dementia and a keen motivation to pursue a career as a Clinical Psychologist/Neuropsychologist.
Develop their understanding of the value and purpose of supervision within the discipline of Clinical Psychology
Shadow assistant psychologists/qualified psychologists in the use of neuropsychological assessments in the area of neurodegenerative diseases
Develop appropriate professional working relationships within their professional and/or clinical team and with a range of colleagues at the placement setting and other signposted agencies
Gain knowledge of types of service provision, organisational structures and quality assurance practices in relation to Clinical Psychology
Reflect on their own practice and development needs
Establish the foundations for career-long professional development in Clinical Psychology

Main duties of the job
This is an ideal post for those looking for their first AP role and to gain experience in applied neuropsychology in an NHS service.
Shadowing current Assistant Psychologists, Trainee Clinical Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Music and Art Therapists.
You will have the opportunity to observe Neuropsychological assessments and (where appropriate) post-diagnostic therapy for people with a dementia diagnosis.
You will also be helping with a project to improve the demographic data for the service and potentially write up a service evaluation with me.
