The University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL) invite applications for maximum part-time (8PA) or full time (10PA) substantive SAS in Office Gynaecology.
The Gynaecology team at UHL is of high quality with a proven track record of service innovation for the benefit of patients and is supported by the Trust objectives and strategy to improve the delivery of planned and emergency obstetric and gynaecological care across a diverse population.
This is a part time non-training grade post to work with existing consultants and trainees in providing Gynaecology service, mainly at the East Midland's Planned Care Centre (EMPCC). The UHL Trust ambition (pending final financial approval) is that women's services are collocated into a purpose built women's hospital on the LRI site.
EMPCC will open in December 2024 to provide outpatient, ambulatory and day-case services in gynaecology alongside other specialities.
Main duties of the job
This SAS post holder will support the Gynaecology Service in an outpatient/office setting and will have additional qualifications or skills to facilitate this for example:
Diagnostic and Operative Ambulatory Hysteroscopy (e.g. investigating and managing women with abnormal uterine bleeding/unscheduled bleeding on HRT /Postmenopausal bleeding) and will have extensive experience in not only investigating but managing and treating these conditions (e.g. Ambulatory hysteroscopic morcellation, ablation).
Menopause management
Urogynaecology investigations and management such as Urodynamic investigations and complex pessary service (non-ring pessaries)
Subfertility or Recurrent Miscarriage clinics
General Gynaecology clinics
Additional qualifications or experience in any of these areas will be advantageous (e.g. ATSM in advanced hysteroscopy, Menopause care, Urogynaecology)
There will be no on-call component to this post however the post includes regular Saturday working on 4 Saturdays in 12 weeks on a rolling basis with all Mondays and half Friday mornings OFF DUTY.
As this post is regulated by the Protection of Children Act 1999, The Criminal Justice Courts Act 2000 and / or the Care Standards Act 2000 an enhanced disclosure by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) will be undertaken.
