Organisational Development Practitioner fixed term for 12 months

The purpose of the role is to support Care Group and Support Service staff to develop the skills they require to be effective and compassionate leaders. Through the design, delivery and evaluation of organisational development interventions, including programmes and training sessions. Provide change management and service improvement support to specific projects where expert knowledge is required, mentoring staff to grow their skills and capability to lead interventions in the future.

Main duties of the job

Design and deliver general and tailored OD interventions to teams that result in behaviour change and performance and process improvement.

Evaluate learning and organisational development activities and measure the impact of these on individual, team, organisational objectives.

Provide professional support to care groups and corporate services, ensuring that learning and organisational development is given a high profile and contributes effectively to the needs of the business.

identify risks and issues within teams or services that may impact on the safety and quality of patient care, communicating these with appropriate parties and supporting the agreement of actions to improve or resolve them.

Promote employee engagement and an enabling culture across the Trust by creating effective relationships, partnership working and supporting line managers to become effective leaders, through providing advice, guidance, support, coaching and experiential learning.

Disclosure and Barring Service:

On 28 November 2020, the new Disclosure and Barring Service filtering rules will come into effect.

The changes mean that:

The Trust is committed to safeguarding adults and children therefore if the post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended) the successful candidate(s) will be subject to a criminal records check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

Standard Check: �18 + Administration cost of �3.85 = �21.85. Deducted at �6.85 from 1st month salary and �5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Enhanced Check: �38 + administration cost of �3.90 = �41.90. Deducted at �11.90 from 1st month salary and �10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Mentoring or Coaching qualification


Desirable

  • Membership of professional network e.g. CIPD


Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Enabling and embedding change practices in a large, complex and fast moving organisation
  • Interpreting OD theory to practically apply it in different situations
  • Creating workable solutions that 'fit' the business, rather than 'by the book' best practice
  • Knowledge of service improvement methodology including Lean and organisational change
  • Knowledge of OD techniques and best practice
  • Ability to work on a number of projects simultaneously and deliver to agreed timescales
  • Ability to translate practice in to appropriate style communications materials for sharing with colleagues
