An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Practitioner Psychologist to join the Portsmouth & South East Hampshire Mental Health Liaison Team and our highly valued Psychological Services team, working across the whole mental health care pathway.
We are looking for a motivated and committed person. You will already have experience of working with people with complex mental health problems and developing psychologically-informed practice within a multi-disciplinary team. You will have a proven track record of developing clinical interventions at the pace required for a mental health liaison setting. You will be committed to leading health care professionals delivering high quality psychological interventions efficiently to people experiencing acute mental health crises and to people whose mental health impacts upon their physical health conditions.
Our Mental Health Liaison team is expanding to include an outpatient clinic lead by 8B Principal Psychologist and a Clinical Associate Psychologist post. We are also planning to recruit to another 8a Psychologist post in the near future and help create posts within Queen Alexandra Hospital. This is an excellent opportunity to build psychological skills within a well-established and expanding team. In addition, there will be opportunities to gain experience within the wider Portsmouth & South East Hampshire Psychological Services. The Mental Health Liaison team are excited by the prospect of improving their service by integrating psychological interventions into their offer.
The post-holder will contribute to shaping the vision and delivery of the MHLT assessment and intervention by working with other psychologists in the training and supervision of staff. This role will also enable you to build on audit and research skills.
We would consider applications from newly qualified Practitioner Psychologists and support their development into an 8a role.
Portsmouth & South East Hampshire Psychological Services have well established clinical supervision structures and an excellent track record of CPD, as well as good links with Southampton University, particularly with the Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology and the Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
You will be professionally and line managed by the Lead Psychologist for MHLT. You will be part of the Portsmouth & South East Hampshire Psychological Services, which is comprised of 20 Psychologists and Psychological Therapists with expertise in CBT, DBT, CAT, Art Therapy, IPT, ACT, CFT and EMDR.
Informal enquiries and visits are very welcome. Please contact Dr Tanya Dasgupta Hudson, on: 023 92286000 ex 5930/ 07584541695 or e-mail: Tanya.Dasgupta-Hudson@southernhealth.nhs.uk or, Louisa Lammas, Mental Health Liaison Team Leader on: 07979 530972or e-mail: louisa.lammas@southernhealth.nhs.uk
