Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors we support over 150 Occupational Therapists.

Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.

Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence based practice and agreed occupational therapy pathway.

We ensure our occupational therapists have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists

Main duties of the job

At St. Augustines you will be joining an established, supportive OT team and an experienced MDT across the site.

You will get to expand your skill set through working with a diverse range of male mental health patients and diagnoses.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide direct clinical care which will encompass OT assessments, treatment and management of patients within the service.

In this role you will assess, implement and develop an OT treatment programme according to service users diagnosis and identified needs. This will be based upon findings from assessments including associated risks, in order to develop treatment plans accordingly.

Are you a Newly Qualified Occupational Therapist or current Band 5 OT who would like to explore a more rewarding clinical challenge in Male Mental Health Services? Are you ready to develop your clinical skills?
Post: Band 5

Base: Cygnet St. Augustines

Responsible for: The post holder will support the OT provision on the agreed ward including supporting therapy coordinators.

Responsible to: Head OT

Hours: Full time (40 hours)

  • The Successful Candidate should be/have:
    • A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) or soon to be qualified.
    • Experienced in the field of adult mental health is desirable but not essential
    • An understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions and can take a hands on approach
    • Excellent communication and time management skills
    • Passionate about patient care and service development.
