Want to make a difference to the lives of young people at a vulnerable stage of their illness? Then come join our new adolescent PICU team: a purpose built psychiatric intensive care unit for young people.
We are looking for a dynamic and creative Band 6 Charge Nurse to join the team. You will need to have an interest in Positive Behaviour Support as this will be the model implemented on the ward. Training on Positive Behaviour Support will be provided for all staff.
We are looking for an individual who is energetic and enthusiastic about working collaboratively with young people and their families, offering containment and support to the wider nursing team. This individual should be committed to utilising acute nursing skills at the highest level to ensure the least restrictive care possible is being delivered.
You will have the opportunity to work alongside the ward manager and be involved in the recruitment and development of the nursing team who will be working on the PICU and the wider development of the CAMHS PICU service.
The unit is committed to teaching/training and providing evidence-based care. Being involved in research for adolescent inpatient care will be a vital part of the role.
The team offers a comprehensive induction package and training programme for all new staff including a bespoke week of adolescent mental health teaching, PBS training and a 3 day DBT skills based training.
If you have any questions please contact Tom Lankester (Clinical Nurse Lead) or Sarah Firth (Modern Matron) on 01865 902711
