Northgate Ward has an exciting opportunity to join our team. This would be perfect for an experienced nurse within inpatient services looking to develop their skills and experience or for a nurse looking to return to inpatient care.

Northgate ward is a mixed sex adult acute ward. We have an experienced team passionate about providing individualised holistic care. We are committed to continuing quality improvement and encourage all staff to be part of this.

Main duties of the job

The SeniorNurse within a ward team is expected to take the lead in the implementation of individualised and responsive care planning, risk assessment and discharge facilitation. Within this role there is also an element of leadership and staff management for which excellent communication skills and the ability to self-reflect are critical.

We will look to support you to develop your skills in a variety of ways, be that through leadership courses, mentorship, involvement in quality improvement projects as well as more formal qualifications. If you have the drive to provide excellent care, can demonstrate high quality clinical skills and are willing to go the extra mile to help make a difference to people's lives then we would love to hear from you.

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is the main provider of specialist mental health services for the counties of Norfolk and Suffolk, serving a population of 1.6 million people. We are a large organisation covering a wide geographical area divided into ‘Care Groups'. There are also Care Groups supporting children, family and young people’s services, and specialist services, including Forensic mental health services.

Each Care Group has its own Leadership team, with the aim of supporting clinically led decision making locally, to support the needs of people accessing services. 

We have inpatient facilities across both counties with smaller bases in rural locations. Many of the Trust’s services are offered in the community, enabling people accessing services to receive the support they need in an environment familiar to them.
