An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated physiotherapist to join our fantastic extended primary care team (EPCT) here at East London NHS Foundation Trust (rated outstanding by the CQC). This role will provide a successful applicant with the opportunity to take a Clinical lead respiratory role within the EPCT and specialist services. The role is based at Eastham Care Centre in the borough of Newham and is part of the team which consists of a team of multidisciplinary professionals that work across the community and hospital to facilitate early discharge and prevent unnecessary hospital admission.
We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative, and flexible physiotherapist to join our team in working with patients across a variety of clinical services and areas in the community needing respiratory input at a specialist level. Applicants must have a clinical skill with an interest in respiratory physiotherapy i.e. COPD, pulmonary rehabilitation etc. Applicants should also have the ability to manage complex cases independently, providing a comprehensive physiotherapy assessment, expert input and intervention, evidencing problem solving and clinical reasoning skills in line with evidence-base practice to the EPCT teams including specialist services e.g community neuro, learning disabilities.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist in the delivery of a specialistshort / long term respiratory service for people withrespiratory conditions across the integrated organisation.? To work as an independent practitioner, managing andprioritising own caseload, working in a variety of settingsin the community, exercising a high level clinicalreasoning and decision making in clinical care.? To hold accountability for the caseload and case managecare in all settings in the patient's care pathways - thisincludes patients in acute exacerbation and stable casemanagement. This includes patients attending thePulmonary Rehabilitation service.? To work in partnership with stakeholders in providingseamless care to patients? To work with people with acute and chronic respiratoryconditions to develop their knowledge and skills withregard to their management of symptoms associated with

Person Specification Education/Training Essential
- Registered Physiotherapist qualification
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Management qualification or equivalent experience
- MSc level qualification or equivalent experience
- Independent and Supplementary prescriber
- Advanced clinical assessment skills
- Advanced Physical Assessment skills
- Specialist knowledge in respiratory conditions like COPD
- Skills in caring for patients receiving noninvasive ventilation and long term oxygen therapy.
- Established organisational and leadership skills.
- Counselling skills
- The post holder will be required to have professional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by specialist training, experience to master's level or equivalent as essential.
- Significant post registration experience.
