An exciting opportunity has arisen within Solihull Integrated Addiction Service (SIAS) to recruit one Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP). SIAS is an NHS-led partnership of four agencies (BSMHFT, Aquarius, Welcome and Changes UK) that provides care for both young people and adults who are experiencing problems with drugs, alcohol or gambling in the Solihull area. The partnership was awarded a new treatment contract in 2018 that will potentially run until 2027, and has won a host of local and national awards.

In conjunction with the Consultant Psychiatrist (Dr Ed Day), junior doctors, and the existing NMP, the appointee will be expected to deliver a high-quality evidence-based service that both reduces harm and promotes and facilitates recovery.

Main duties of the job

The NMP will manage a caseload of patients receiving Opiate Substitution Treatment, prescribing capacity for the drug and alcohol detoxification service, and relevant prescribing input to the physical health service. The job will provide plenty of variety, an opportunity to use high level clinical and leadership skills, and opportunities for continuing professional development, including involvement in local and national research projects.

We are looking for competent individual capable of high quality clinical practice who has the leadership capability to drive the service forward effectively for the benefit of our service users. You will be expected to provide professional advice and support to other agencies and members of the multidisciplinary team as appropriate to maximise the effectiveness of the service.
