We are excited to share the opportunity to join our well established Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner team here in the Award Winning Dyson Centre for Neonatal Care, Bath. We have a two tier ANNP rota providing 24 hour care alongside a caring and compassionate nursing and medical team. The successful applicant will join an existing team of ANNP working at tier one level, with a clear pathway and competency framework to progression to tier 2 8b level working if they wish.

Led by our Neonatal Nurse Consultant, you will be supported to fulfil your 4 pillars of Advanced Practice with opportunities for involvement in research studies, clinical education, leadership, management and quality improvement initiatives. We are passionate in providing high quality family integrated care for our babies' and their families, evidenced by our neonatal unit having BFI Accreditation and a CQC 'Outstanding' Maternity Service. The RUH has a strategic vision for Advanced Clinical Practice within the trust and together we will support you throughout your career.

The Dyson Neonatal Unit is a Local Neonatal Unit with 21 cots. We provide Transitional Care and have an established Neonatal Community Outreach Service. Explore our Virtual Neonatal Unit tour here.

Main duties of the job

The Advanced neonatal Nurse Practitioner role incorporates both medical and nursing care, working in line with the BAPM Capabilities Framework for ANNP. The role will

o Provide expert and specialist care for sick and premature neonates. This includes the management of intensive and high dependency care infants using advanced clinical, analytical, and decision-making skills.

o Working as part of the Maternity and Neonatal multidisciplinary team to promote and develop high standards of holistic neonatal care.

o Acting as a specialist providing advice and support to families, hospital and community staff.

  • Registered Nurse Part 1,2,12
  • Neonatal Specialist critical care course
  • In possession of or currently undertaking a Master's Degree
  • Advanced Clinical Practice (Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner)
  • Demonstrates evidence of on-going continuous professional development.


Desirable

  • NLS Provider


Qualifications & Training

Essential

  • Participated in service development and implementation of change
  • Able to advise on and implement improvements to the quality and efficiency of care for relevant patient group with specific attention to complex cases.
  • Experience of clinical audit and service development resulting from audit findings
  • Knowledge of professional and wider issues relating to the NHS, and policy relating to own specialist area
