The post holder in collaboration with the Head of Nursing and the Multi-disciplinary team is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, effective care leading to an excellent experience for patients and carers across the outpatient department by:

Providing clinical leadership across areas of responsibility which inspires and motivates others, enabling all ward/department Managers to have the authority and autonomy they need to improve the patient experience.

Working with the service teams to develop strategies to ensure continuous improvement initiatives are developed and implemented to ensure that the service meets all Quality Indicator targets, Key Performance Indicators, Quality and Safety standards.

Ensuring that nursing teams within the division has the appropriate level of knowledge and skills to enable them to provide high quality, evidence-based patient care and services.

Play a critical role in the transition to the new Oriel site, ensuring operational continuity, comprehensive staff training, and smooth integration into the new facility. The planning and oversight will be instrumental in making the transition seamless and efficient.

Main duties of the job

Being a key member of the management team providing support to Service/Ward/Department managers as well as Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Consultants in ensuring that high quality patient centred care is delivered, providing assurance of this whilst delivering the trusts core objectives and strategies.

Essential

  • Registered Nurse
  • Management qualification /experience
  • Leadership course

  • PG Cert: Clinical Ophthalmic Practice or equivalent
  • Non-Medical prescriber qualification
