Avondale are looking to recruit a Band 5 Nurse to join an established Multi-Disciplinary Team. Avondale is a 14 bedded mixed assessment unit which offers service users intensive, high quality, person-centred interventions and assessment utilising a trauma informed model/approach. This aids decisions to provide further support in the community or signpost to treatment units for further intervention.
The candidate will be expected to provide supervision to junior staff across the service and have experience of offering evidence-based, value recovery-focused interventions that facilitate recovery.
Main duties of the job
Reporting to the Charge Nurse, the post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, co-ordinating with psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, health care assistants and allied professionals, to help individuals with specific symptoms of mental illness, and supporting them to overcome challenges.
With a passion for positive change, the successful applicant will prepare, develop and maintain individualised patient records, producing care plans and risk assessments, with an aim to maximise care and assist people to live productive lives. Interacting with patients' families and other services is a key component of the role, offering education, information and advocacy.
Excellent observational skills are required to assess patients, along with the ability to stay calm and think quickly in challenging circumstances. Applicants will also be required to administer medications and facilitate treatment options, monitoring results, recording and escalating any concerns in a timely manner.

- Willingness to undertake and complete preceptorship facilitating the transition for newly qualified nurse booklet and core competency development programme.
