The vacancy also attracts an additional £1401 per annum forensic lead payment.

We are currently recruiting for mental health nurses to join our friendly and supportive team at Leigh House where you will the opportunity to continue your personal development to help your further your career.

We will provide you with a robust and supportive welcome programme; including our local CAMHS Induction day and Training day.

Give you the opportunity to apply to enrol on the Children’s and Young Persons Mental Health Inpatient Training Programme with the University of Reading. This is an innovative 10-day research informed training programme, spread over 5 weeks.

If you are a newly qualified nurse, you will be offered a comprehensive preceptorship when you come to join us.

As a registered professional you will automatically become a member of our Academy of Clinical Excellence (ACE) which has a specific focus on the professional development and career progression of our nurses and Allied Health Professionals. As part of ACE’s commitment to you, our development pathway offer for band 5’s includes access to masters level academic study with our partner universities along with a bespoke leadership programme tailored to help you enhance your competence and confidence as a leader during your early career. If you are a newly qualified registrant we will provide you with a structured preceptorship programme to support you in making an effective transition from student to registered practitioner. ACE will support you to progress your journey with us and we offer all our registrants the opportunity to engage in ‘Career Navigation’ conversations which will help you explore your career aspirations and make decisions about your career trajectory.

Leigh House, Winchesteris an acute adolescent psychiatric service. It not only helps patients recover from eating disorders but it also looks after young people with other mental health conditions such as depression, OCD and psychosis.

You will be part of a close knit team that looks at the ‘bigger picture’ to stop the spiral of mental health with early interventions and skills for life.

As a staff nurse you will develop, implement and evaluate care plans in conjunction with service users, carers and other professionals ensuring individual needs are met.

You will carry out all relevant forms of care and will be designated to take charge of a ward in the absence of a charge nurse.
