Are you a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) looking for a fresh and fulfilling career opportunity? We have exciting Community Staff Nurse positions available at Williton and Minehead Community Hospitals. You can choose your base, but our team provides cross-coverage across the entire region.
Our service spans both urban and rural areas of West Somerset, from the scenic Quantock Hills to the beautiful Exmoor National Park. This role primarily involves day shifts (8am-4pm, 9am-5pm, or 10am-6pm), along with one twilight shift per week (2pm-10pm) and one in four weekends, which come with additional unsocial hours enhanced payments. Please note, there are no night shifts. We also support flexible working arrangements and consider part-time hours to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance.
As a Community Staff Nurse, you will need to be a car driver with access to your own vehicle to visit patients. We offer a generous mileage allowance, which includes coverage for both fuel and vehicle depreciation.

Main duties of the job
As a community RN, you'll provide care to patients in their homes, managing a range of complex health issues and collaborating with various other disciplines.You'll also work closely with the Hospital @ Home team, focused on preventing acute admission. You'll develop a broad range of nursing skills, including IV medication administration, palliative and end-of-life care, complex wound management, catheter and continence care, diabetes management, PICC line care, medication administration, and drain tube management.You'll need to make autonomous clinical decisions and create holistic care plans, with the support of your colleagues and Team Leaders. Comprehensive training and guidance will be provided by our two dedicated Clinical Lead nurses.
