Essex SET CAMHS has an opportunity for 2 qualified professionals to step into an established role within a diverse and experienced team.
The Mid Essex CAMHS team has a base in Chelmsford and covers the surrounding areas including Braintree, Maldon, Southminster and Halstead. The successful applicants would be based in Chelmsford but expected to cover our satellite clinics in Braintree, Halstead and Maldon.
The CAMHS Practitioner role supports the development and implementation of a range of interventions within the Thrive Model as indicated by SET CAMHS and NICE guidance e.g CBT, DBT, trauma informed.
The successful applicants will demonstrate thorough assessment skills including care planning and risk assessments. You will be able to provide a variety of one to one and group treatments and include the use of outcome measures and goal setting to track progress. Experience of working within multi-agency frameworks would be advantageous. This post would suit clinicians with good experience in working with young people who present with complexity and significant levels of distress, and can work with the wider systems including education, social care and family/carers.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Job responsibilities
- Skilled in assessment, formulation, management and delivery of therapy to people experiencing mental health difficulties in the community and hospital settings.
- Experienced in assessing and managing clinical risk, drawing on dynamic case formulation skills and working collaboratively with service users to agree their treatment and safety plans.
- Possess a current Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapist, Counselling, Psychotherapy or equivalent professional qualification and be skilled and experienced in the delivery of evidence-based approaches to therapy (including DBT/CBT/Systemic & Creative therapies).
- Having knowledge, understanding and experience of working with the legal frameworks which relate to the care and treatment of children and young people, with particular reference to Children Act 1989, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended in 2007.
- The candidate will possess the ability to work independently as well as being a collaborative and supportive member of the Multidisciplinary Team and have an understanding and appreciation of the networks that surround young people in a modern age, especially in relation to mental health and mental health crisis.
- Are flexible in practice and approach and able to carry out high quality Assessments and Risk Assessments and deliver talking therapy and aforementioned evidence-based informed intervention.
- Able to formulate specific care and treatment plans, providing skilled and specialist interventions and care to young people with complex mental health problems. Completing detailed written assessments in a timely manner.
- Have a passion and enthusiasm for delivering high quality care to young people and their families.
- The use and management of clients' electronic records.
