An exciting opportunity has arisen for aClinical/Counselling Psychologist, or Psychotherapist with relevant experience, to join a small service providing dedicated psychological support for those affected by the abuse that occurred in Islington's childrens homes and associated institutions between 1960 and 1995.Our Services Page | North London Mental Health Partnership This includes providing high-quality psychological assessment and specialist trauma-focused psychological therapy for survivors presenting with complex PTSD or other mental health impacts of their trauma. The role also involves ongoing liaison with partner organisations and signposting to other services as appropriate.
The service is embedded within the Traumatic Stress Clinic (TSC) and the postholder will have access to specialist supervision groups within the TSC, in addition to individual supervision.
We have funding for a fixed-term 1.2 WTE position until 31st March 2026 and are recruiting for two clinicians to fulfil this position. Ideally this will include Mondays to attend team meetings. The clinic is based at St Pancras Hospital, but the role can be a hybrid of clinic and home working.
We are especially keen to employ a diverse team of clinicians to ensure that we continue to meet the needs of those who grew up in the borough of Islington.

- Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology as accredited by the British Psychological Society, or British Psychological Society Statement of Equivalence. OR: Post-graduate level training in psychotherapy with evidence of training and expertise in using trauma focused CBT or EMDR for PTSD and experience in a specialist trauma service

- Training in supervision of trainee clinical / counselling psychologists

- Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, including with acute and complex PTSD, across the whole life course and presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity.
