We are seeking a Specialty Doctor to support us on our improvement and transformation journey.
This is an exciting time in for the Trust as we are on a journey to bring together all NHS community and mental health services provided in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, including services provided by Solent NHS Trust, Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, Isle of Wight NHS Trust and Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, that delivers Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Hampshire, in what we call project Fusion.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for two full time 10 PA (or job share) Specialty Doctor in General Adult Psychiatry on the Acute Admissions inpatient unit in Adult Mental Health (Juniper and Cherry ward) in Basingstoke, North Hampshire.
1 post: Cherry ward is a female ward which currently holds 16 beds and
2 post: Juniper ward is a male ward which runs at an 18 bed occupancy number.
Cherry and Juniper ward form part of the Acute Care Pathway, together with a 6 bedded MoD Unit, a 10-bedded PICU (Hazel ward) and a Crisis and Home Treatment Team, all based at Parklands Hospital. The post-holder will join a team of 7 consultant colleagues, 3 middle grade doctors and approximately 7 junior doctors in the medical team supporting the Acute Care Pathway. The Leadership team across the pathway consists of 2 Ward Managers at Band 7, 2 Band 8A Modern Matrons across the wards, 2 band 7 leaders in the CRHT and a Crisis pathway Manager Band 8A across CRHT.
This is a great opportunity to join the teams working across both wards. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of two consultants plus 5 junior doctors (combination of FY and CT trainees) and at times a higher trainee and /or specialty doctor working across both wards.
