An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Nurse with relevant experience to join our multi-disciplinary teamas Sister/Charge Nurse on the Emergency Assessment Unit.

You must be able to motivate staff to achieve high standards, and possess excellent communication skills to ensure that the aims of the Trust are achieved.

The philosophy of the Emergency Village is to provide urgent care to patients of all ages presenting with acute and chronic conditions, supported by specialist 'in reach' teams to deliver the most appropriate patient care pathway. You will be required to work collaboratively with the existing teams to provide emergency care and management of acute and chronic conditions to ensure the best possible outcome for all patients.

Main duties of the job

You will need to ensure that as well as providing clinical leadership, responsibility for direct staff management and the running of the ward, you will also be working to tight deadlines and within a financial budget and other constraints.

You will have experience in managing patients care from admission to discharge, with a good knowledge of the potential discharge solutions available in the community. A large part of the role involves the patient flow through the emergency village, therefore close collaboration with the bed management team will be required and a good working knowledge of the patient flow system is also required.

The role is pressured at times, you will need to be proactive, self directed and have self-awareness as well as working under direction from the Matrons.

You will have, clear aims for the ward's development and be able to achieve goals set. Firm evidence of how they as a leader have positively affected team dynamics and improved clinical effectiveness is required.

You must be able to motivate staff to achieve high standards, and possess excellent communication skills as components to achieve Trust goals.

Job responsibilities

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC Pin within the next 2-3 months. Please note an NMC PRN Pin is not a full NMC Pin and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.

The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receivea full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely.
