Are you looking for that unique job that isn’t available anywhere else?

Would you like to work in our extraordinary CAMHS service to build a brighter and better future for yourself?

Not sure which service to work for then why not try all 3?

We continue to develop and invest in our staff for our extraordinary CAMHS Services and WE WANT YOU to become part of our journey in helping young people recover and overcome adversity.

**** We are offering a “£2,500 Golden Hello Payment” to successful candidates from outside of the Trust! **** (Not available to staff currently working in other HIOW NHS)

The vacancy also attracts an additional £1401 per annum forensic lead payment.

We are currently recruiting for staff nurses to join our rotational programme across our CAMHS services. This unique role will enable you to obtain the experience required to progress in your career from a band 5 to a band 6 during an 18 month programme of development.

It will offer you the opportunity of career defining training and challenges.

The rotation will be across three inpatient units which offer exposure to very distinctive and rewarding environments.

Bluebird House, Southampton is one of six Forensic Children’s mental health units in the country and one of only two that accept both male and female patients. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the most complex 12-18 year olds in the country who experience complex mental health difficulties and challenging behaviour.

Austen House, Southampton is a 14 bed, low secure hospital for children and adolescents with mental health needs. The unit is hugely helping to meet the national shortage of beds for young people with specialist mental health needs, meaning that patients living in the south of the country will be able to access treatment closer to home, preventing them and their families having to travel long distances to receive the care they need.

Leigh House, Winchester is an acute adolescent psychiatric service. It not only helps patients recover from eating disorders but it also looks after young people with other mental health conditions such as depression, OCD and psychosis.

You will be part of a close knit team that looks at the ‘bigger picture’ to stop the spiral of mental health with early interventions and skills for life.

We have designed this rotational programme to enable you to work in each location for a period of 6 months. You will be provided with specially designed training, support and development to increase your clinical skills, meaning you have the relevant experience to transition to a band 6.

After successfully completing your rotation, you will be offered a substantive band 6 post in one of the areas you have worked in (where possible).

We would welcome applications from RMN, RNLD and paediatric nurses who would like to experience working with multi-disciplinary teams in the following areas.

Our inpatient services operate 24/7 and as such it is expected the successful candidate will be flexible with their working hours. You will also be expected to be able to travel between bases and attend additional training throughout the rotation.
