An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ward Manager to join our team and work with North Manchester Inpatient Services.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude and a real passion for mental health nursing to become a Ward Manager here at Park House as we start our Transition into North View.

Juniper Ward is a 10 bedded adult PICU Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit, providing care for male patients aged 18 and over, however should the successful candidate an alternative service this could be subject to change based on service need.

This unit in the midst of a significant Quality Improvement programme focussing on Violence & Aggression, Trauma Informed Care and Staff Wellbeing with the expectation that we will become a site of clinical excellence as well as holding the values of the Trust in support to staff.

The developments within the scope of this role are extraordinary baring in mind that we are currently working together on shaping the environment as well as care delivery within the new North View building. The QI projects above coupled with staff development programmes mean that we are at a point of real growth and progress. These are exciting times to be in North Manchester!

Main duties of the job
You will have the necessary skills to lead, support and manage staff, and be visible and accessible to service users and their families. Your skills should enable you to meet the requirements of this demanding post which include balancing operational management, professional leadership, supporting your team and the active development of the service.

You will be a role model and have a clear interest in acute mental health and supporting those who are in crisis. You will ensure staff commitment to good evidence based practice, ensure the delivery of a quality service and that key targets are being met.

Important in your role is also to enable user independence, choice, dignity and ensuring safety.

Develop and support a culture which values people's rights, enables them to make informed choices and recognises each individual right to a valued life-style, positive social experiences and use of valued resources.

You will promote a least restrictive environment, leading on clinical risk management and person centred care planning.

You will be passionate about your role, and implementing change ideas through QI work streams.

You will predominantly work core hours of 9am-5pm Monday to Friday and take part in Bronze on Call / Bronze on Site as per rota.
