This is an exciting opportunity at Band 6 level to gain experience in the specialist area of orthopaedics and working with patient with neuro-musculoskeletal conditions. Working with full support from well-staffed teams you will gain experience in the following areas on 9 monthly rotations:
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be based at Stanmore or at Bolsover street during MSK rotation and will be required to work on a weekend rota . They will be part of twilight rota (when working with in-patients team.)
To perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse andcomplex conditions, to provide a physiotherapy diagnosis and to develop anddeliver a patient focused treatment programme.To be responsible for own caseload working without direct supervision. All aspectsof clinical duties will be undertaken as an autonomous practitioner. Supervisiontakes the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, problemcase sessions and peer review. Access to advice and support from seniorcolleagues is available if required.

- Spinal cord injuries including advanced cardio-respiratory care on ITU as well as neuro-rehabilitation
- Adult musculoskeletal unit which includes out-patients, rehabilitation and pain management programmes
- Elective orthopaedics - including joint reconstruction, foot and ankle, spinal surgery and pre-admission
- Orthopaedic oncology service which includes post-operative surgery and rehabilitation
- Upper limb unit which includes experience with Brachial plexus injuries, shoulder dysfunction/surgery and peripheral nerve injury
- Limb Reconstruction Unit - Adult and Children services

- Diploma/degree in physiotherapy
- Registered with Health Professions Council
- Evidence of CPD maintained portfolio including attendance at recent post graduate courses relevant to this post
Desirable
- Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
- Involvement in CSP clinical interest group
Experience

- 2 years' experience as a basic grade in a broad range of rotations including orthopaedics/out patients, respiratory care and ITU, rehabilitation
- Well-reasoned account of career intentions at RNOH
- Involvement in audit and understanding quality issues
- Contributing to clinical education of less experienced staff or students
