Gloucestershire CAMHS is transforming its mental health services for children and young people, and we would very much like a Systemic Psychotherapist to join our developing team to oversee and support systemic practice throughout our service.

We have established Family Therapy clinics, as well as an NVR clinic with a history of Quality Improvement and Research. The right candidate will build upon this strong foundation, working with the clinical teams in developing and improving systemic practice in the county. This will include having oversight of the delivery of Systemic Interventions, as well as supervising, delivering training, and contributing to the CAMHS Transformation programme

We are seeking someone who will:
  • be passionate about embedding systemic practice across clinical teams
  • be a driven, enthusiastic and forward thinking leader.
  • have significant experience of working systemically with a range of children and families
  • be able to engage with clinicians, stakeholders, children and families.
  • have extensive experience working in CAMHS services.
  • demonstrate clear communication of the development of the team both within the service/ directorate and relevant external services.
  • have a range of experience of leading projects or other clinically based initiatives which have contributed to delivering innovative and high-quality services to children and young people.
  • hold a relevant Professional Registration (RMN, SW, OT etc)

Main duties of the job

  • Clinical oversight of all children and families seen within the Family Therapy and NVR clinics
  • Delivering systemic supervision and training to clinicians within CAMHS and the wider Children and Young People's Directorate (which includes school nursing, health visiting, occupational therapy)
  • Holding the 'child's voice' as central to all decision making.
  • Working with our Commissioners and other Stakeholders to contribute to the development of systemic practice in Gloucestershire.
  • Holding a small caseload of families, delivering a range of interventions
  • Opportunities to develop your highly specialist clinical and managerial skills through training, profession specific support, development supervision and personal coaching initiatives.
  • The opportunity to develop highly specialist knowledge, experience and skills with a leading CAMHS provider.
  • The challenge of complex and varied work within a integrated multi agency team.
  • A variety of competitive employee benefits including access to a range of salary sacrifice schemes and discounts.
  • Our service is proud of its strong multi-disciplinary ethos within its clinical delivery and has robust clinical supervision, workload management and Continuing Professional Development structures in place.

About us

We are keen to develop a more representative diversity of our senior staff and particularly encourage applications from those individuals with protected characteristics - in particular from women, ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ and disabled candidates.

The Trust aims to recruit and retain the best possible staff who, through the application of their skills, qualification and experience, will make a positive contribution to our business of providing quality health care services. It is the Trust's view that the costs associated with moving house in order to take up a post with us should not restrict our ability to recruit the excellent people we need; therefore, we support staff to relocate with our relocation policy.

This post requires the post holder to be able to undertake all statutory and mandatory training and post holders must be able to undertake physical interventions. Fitness for physical intervention will be assessed by Occupational Health.

A valid UK driving licence plus the use of own transport for business purposes is essential. For qualifying staff the Trust has a Lease Car Scheme in place and also offers a popular Salary Sacrifice Car Scheme with our partner Tusker.
