An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse on the Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU) in Glangwili General Hospital.
The Clinical Decisions Unit comprises 24 beds and an Ambulatory Care Unit comprising 6 chairs.Patients with a wide range of medical problems present to CDU to be assessed and treated.
This is an ideal opportunity to develop new skills and gain a wide range of managerial experience thereby furthering your career. You will be expected to ensure a high standard of care is delivered for our patients and work closely with the multidisciplinary team within a positive and challenging environment.
You will need to demonstrate the ability to lead the team with a strong emphasis on keeping the patients at the centre of everything we do.
The successful candidate should be an enthusiastic team member and role model.

- To combine excellent clinical practice with day to day shift coordination
- To undertake leadership and management responsibilities in support of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse
- To continually support and work in conjunction with the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse.
- To provide supervisory management and leadership skills in a clinical environment which is complex and pressurised.
- To work alongside the nursing team members, providing support to junior colleagues in the provision of direct care.
- To provide leadership and role modelling in the development and mentorship of new and other staff.
- To demonstrate the Health Board's values in everything that you do in the work environment.
