Our innovative Rehabilitation in Complex Psychosis Community Mental Health service seeks a creative, flexible Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our Shared Leadership Team. As a team we are passionate about creative engagement, and empowering service users with complex needs to achieve their Recovery goals.

The successful candidate will be required to work with other senior staff as part of a shared leadership model including medical, psychology, social work, and allied health professional colleagues. You will monitor the progress of our mental health rehabilitation service, support the proposed expansion to other areas of the county, and will provide supervision and clinical leadership to our nurses. It's an exciting time to join the service, as you will have the opportunity to influence the development of a rehabilitation pathway across Norfolk.

You will be involved in supporting governance such as audit, Quality Reviews, CQC preparedness, and best practice in line with Nice Guidelines and the Royal College of Psychiatrists Quality Network for Mental Health Rehabilitation Services community rehabilitation standards.

Main duties of the job

You will be an ANP, with a scope of practice including prescribing for psychosis. You will demonstrate strong clinical skills, and will be expected to have experience and advanced knowledge in the area of clinical practice with people with enduring psychosis. You will be expected to act as a source of advice and guidance to the clinical team, providing support to practitioners with safe clinical decision-making.

One emphasis of the post involves ensuring high quality clinical care, provision and outcomes. We work with people in their own homes, residential care and supported living settings as well as, on occasion, in-reaching to people who are in a mental health hospital bed. You will provide direct support to staff and service users where role modelling/peer intervention may be of benefit to clinical outcomes. You will hold a small caseload as part of this work.

You will work with the leadership team and others supporting clinical engagement and leadership of quality, health and safety, performance and service development, including through the application of QI projects. We pride ourselves on being a healthy and supportive team, and have received positive feedback from our staff. You can find out more about the work we do on our X page @NSFTRehab.

Diane Hull - NSNHSFT

Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is the main provider of specialist mental health services for the counties of Norfolk and Suffolk, serving a population of 1.6 million people. We are a large organisation covering a wide geographical area divided into ‘Care Groups'. There are also Care Groups supporting children, family and young people’s services, and specialist services, including Forensic mental health services.

Each Care Group has its own Leadership team, with the aim of supporting clinically led decision making locally, to support the needs of people accessing services.

We have inpatient facilities across both counties with smaller bases in rural locations. Many of the Trust’s services are offered in the community, enabling people accessing services to receive the support they need in an environment familiar to them.

At NSFT we believe in recovery and wellbeing, and understand the importance of good physical health, maintaining relationships and achieving a balance between treatments and continuing an active life.

The people in our care, families and carers are at the centre of all aspects of all we do and are vital in helping shape and support our service strategy. Our strategy supports and enables people with mental health problems to live a fulfilling life and make their personal recovery journey.

Norfolk and Suffolk, in the East of England are some of the safest places to live in the UK, with low crime rates making it a community to be proud of. Housing prices are frequently cited as a reason to move here, as you get an incredible amount for your money compared with other major UK cities.

One of Norfolk’s most famous stretches of beaches, Great Yarmouth attracts around six million tourists each year! Situated at the mouth of the River Yare, this old port town is home to beautiful golden sandy beaches and neighbouring towns and villages with scenic views and homely charm.

Full to the brim of history and with a vibrant town centre, King’s Lynn is the ideal destination to enjoy the superb mix of history, shopping and entertainment on offer!  A small, historic market town, King's Lynn is the perfect place to live and work, with fantastic train links and short drives to fantastic beaches.
