This is an exciting 9 month fixed term / secondment opportunity for a highly motivated and multi-skilled Clinical Team Leader to join the South Devon & Torbay Mental Health Centre at Torbay Hospital. The role will be based on Haytor ward.
Haytor Wards multi-disciplinary team provide a service for adults with a mental health illness. We are a busy, motivated and interesting team, who value working together. The Clinical Team Leader role is essential in supporting the team to achieve its aim.

Communication and Working Relationship Skills
- To have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Work in partnership with all health, social care professionals and other stake holders, maintaining effective communication that benefits the patients / service users wellbeing.Liaise with carers, families and user groups and representatives.

- Contribute to the safe and effective day to day operations of the service including the handling of clinical enquiries.
- Working with clinical teams to support and encourage alternatives to treatment other than acute inpatient admissions, in partnership with appropriate clinical teams (e.g. Crisis & Home Treatment, Community Teams and Liaison Psychiatry).
- Attendance at ward rounds, focusing on care planning and timely discharge.

- To liaise with the local Community Mental Health Services to facilitate care pathways.

- To deputise for the manager in his/her absence
- Lead and supervise others, undertake PDRs and manage absence
- Assist with the development and delivery and evaluation of evidence based treatments.
- To participate in training and development of junior staff within the clinical environment.

- To ensure the appropriate delegation of tasks taking into consideration the skills and grade of staff members.
- Produce staffing rotas, taking into consideration budgetary requirements, skill/gender grade mix to meet clinical need.
Responsibility for Patient/Client Care, Treatment and Therapy
- To ensure that care plans are implemented and reviewed as part of ongoing assessment.
