Eating Disorder Lead Occupational Therapist and Adult Intensive Team Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a Occupational Therapist to join our Eating Disorders Service as a Team Leader and Lead OT. This is a full-time position, based in the London's Kensington & Chelsea.

This is an integrated Eating Disorders Day Programme providing an enhanced level of care in the community following either specialist inpatient treatment or a step-up care from the community.

The post holder will hold day-to-day operational management responsibility of the intensive pathway service and supporting the multidisciplinary team to provide the care and treatment. You will provide clinical professional input into the individuals on the day programme.

The post holder will also be working to lead the eating disorder team of Occupational Therapist working embedded across different teams and pathways across our service.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will ensure that service access and delivery is efficient, effective, evidence based, service user and carer focused. You will ensure the service is well led, with motivated staff, safe and with good outcomes for adults and their carers

    Person Specification

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • OT degree and HCPC registration
    • Experience post qualification working with mental health


    Desirable

    • Sensory Training (Integration)
    • Leadership Course such as 21CLP


    Experience

    Essential

    • o Interest in working with Eating Disorders
    • o Experience of caseload management and throughput
    • o Experience of managing a clinical team including recruitment, supervision and management of staff
    • o Experience of training staff
    • o Experience of effective partnership working, with external providers


    Desirable

    • o Experience of working in a Day Programme
    • o Experience of working in a Intensive Pathway eg: ICT, DP or HTT


    Skills and Knowledge

    Essential

    • oDemonstrates an appropriate level of OT specialist skills and knowledge for the job banding as an OT
    • oUnderstanding of and commitment to the principles and practices of Eating Disorders Services
    • oAbility to assess complex health & wellbeing needs/conditions & develop, monitor & review care plans which facilitate the individual's recovery
    • oDemonstrates ability to assess and manage risk
    • oHighly developed interpersonal skills enabling therapeutic alliances to be developed & maintained with patients who have multiple & complex needs and their families
    • oDemonstrates strong leadership skill and qualities and ability to support others through periods of change
    • oAble to use data and information systems to track activity and performance
