An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of a full time Deputy Care Home Manager at Clifton Lodge Care Home based in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex. Main duties of the job
The post holder works under the overall supervision of the Home Manager, but is required to undertake the duties of the post without direct supervision. They are required to teach of other nursing and non-nursing staff allocated to their particular area. The post holder is designated as the person to take charge regularly in the absence of the Home Manager, with prior in agreement with that person, undertaking defined managerial responsibility for the home. In addition, the post holder will be expected to take a key role as lead on the clinical practice within the area, will demonstrate good leadership skills whilst ensuring robust standards of care are in place, including physical, mental health and social needs ensuring theses are implemented and evaluated.

Job description Job responsibilities
Regularly take charge of the home in the absence of the Home Manager
Liaise with the Clinical Team and other disciplines to ensure appropriate continuity of resident care as part of the Care Programme Approach and improve the quality of care provided
In liaison with the Home Manager, ensure that Trust Policies and Procedures are communicated, implemented and developed within the area and staff are aware at all times that current information is available via the Trust Intranet.
Be mindful and uphold all infection control policies and procedures
Utilise nursing staff in order to maximise resident care, performance and staff morale.
Assist the Home Manager in the maintenance and development of team morale, by demonstrating support for colleagues and showing high level of enthusiasm and commitment.
Contribute towards team education sessions, providing opportunities for a change of ideas, experience, techniques and interventions.

Person Specification Education/Qualifications Essential
- RMN or RGN
- Sound Knowledge of CPA
- Proven experience at band 5
- Excellent knowledge of clinical conditions and systems of good practice in modern mental health services
- Literate in IT/Computer Skills
- Competent in leading a shift prioritising, assessing and managing risk
- Ability to deputise for the Home Care Manager when required
- Able to undertake comprehensive assessments, including physical health, health promotion and social inclusion

- Competent to work effectively in a busy environment
- Commitment to the principles of recovery and work in a way that identifies people's needs and strengths and enhances hope, optimism and respect during the recovery process
