An exciting opportunity has become available within the BCUHB Resuscitation Service. You will be part of an established and dedicated team providing all levels of Resuscitation Training, clinical support, and advice helping to drive the service forward and improve delivery of resuscitation services.
The current vacancy is based in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd though as the Resuscitation Service is a single service across all sites of the health board, there will be the opportunity to work across all three acute sites and community settings to help gain valuable experience.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
This is a developmental role from a B6 Resus Trainer, leading onto a B7 Resus Officer as skills and experience develop.
The successful applicant will be required to be a qualified Immediate Life Support or Paediatric Immediate Life Support instructor. On appointment the postholder would be delivering training upto and including basic life support and immediate life support training across BCU services, and other healthcare settings as the B6 Resuscitation Trainer.
During the applicant's development they will be supported to undertake Advanced Life Support provider courses, which may lead to them being identified as having instructor potential. If instructor potential is recognised, the postholder will be supported to undertake a Generic Instructor Course to become a fully qualified advanced course instructor with the Resuscitation Council UK in either Advanced Life Support or European Paediatric Advanced Life Support. Once successfully recognised as an Advanced course instructor the post would evolve to a B7 'Resuscitation Officer' where additional duties and responsibilities will include advanced life support instruction.
In addition to the training aspect of the role, the successful applicant would support ongoing audits ensuring improved patient safety and Quality Improvement, as well as being an active member of the Resuscitation Committee, and part of the emergency response teams on the acute sites which provides a balance of clinical work / regular teaching.

Supporting the Resuscitation Team Manager in the planning, organising, implementing and delivering Resuscitation Services for both staff and patients.
In collaboration with the Resuscitation Team Manager, deliver the Resuscitation and Clinical Simulation Services for both staff and patients (Acute and Community Services) within the locality.
Act as a Resuscitation Trainer and work towards a Resuscitation Officer within BCUHB.
To work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to ensure the highest standards of patient care and service delivery.
Meeting Organisational and National Policies and N.M.C. /H.C.P.C. Code of Practice, professional standards and guidance.
