The Team supports young people up to 18 years of age in Macclesfield area of Cheshire.This is an exciting opportunity as we develop our 0-18 services in the in the Macclesfield 0 - 18 CAMHS Team. As a member of the team you will be involved with assessments and providing therapy interventions for the young person and /or with their family. There is much scope for providing complex intervention work and for gaining some experience in systemic practice.

You will also be a key member of the Multi Disciplinary Therapy team.

The post is fixed term for 12 months to cover secondment.

Main duties of the job

As a Systemic Practitioner, we ask you to bring your skills, training and experience to our team. You will work with other practitioners in a dynamic hard working team. Clinical Supervision will be from our Family Therapist.

The post holder will manage a case load of children and young people and offer assessment, treatment, review and closure. There may be occasions where the post holder will be part of the Duty Rota.

The post holder will be supported in the continued development of evidence based therapeutic interventions via, training, supervision and co-working.

All new clinical support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 2 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. Please note that DBS costs will be waived for applicants who are being recruited for COVID-19 reasons.

New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential
  • Relevant degree or equivalent level qualification.
  • Professional knowledge acquired through training
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Experience of working with complex systemic presentations
  • Experience of systemic practice
  • Qualification in systemic family practice
Desirable
  • Ability to demonstrate ongoing learning and development.
  • RMN/RN, Clinical Psychologist / Social Worker / Occupational Therapist
Knowledge and Expertise Essential
  • Working knowledge of the Children Act and Mental Health Act (1983).
  • Working knowledge of child protection issues.
  • Ability to write, implementing and evaluating Treatment Plans including identification of risk
Desirable
  • Working knowledge of other specialist therapeutic approaches, eg CBT
Experience Essential
  • Minimum of 2 years experience of working with young people with mental health problems in a CAMHS or Adult setting.
  • Experience of providing clinical consultation
  • Ability to undertake risk assessments
Desirable
  • Experience of being involved in multi-agency meetings
  • Experience working with other agencies e.g. education, social care
