We are currently looking for Clinical Lead Nurses to work within our Adult Learning Disability inpatient department at Bankfields Court in Middlesbrough. You will be responsible for supporting adults with a Learning Disability who have associated Mental Health needs, Epilepsy or behaviours of concern, and will lead the staff nurses to deliver the highest standards of care.
We wish to recruit a highly motivated, flexible, and enthusiastic individual to assist in delivering high quality care across a busy and acute inpatient service. You will need to be able to be dynamic, resilient, have excellent communication skills and be a positive role model.
You will be responsible for the delivery of the clinical service and will lead practice development and service development initiatives to ensure continual quality improvement.You will support the Ward Manager and Clinical Specialist Nurse in the running of the unit, supervising team members, monitoring and reporting on the team's performance, as well as maintaining a direct care role.
Candidates must have 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework.
Main duties of the job
The Clinical Lead will ensure high quality care is maintained at all times whilst providing effective practice leadership. They will support the Ward Manager/Deputy Ward Manager with safe staffing and delivery of supervision/appraisals, and provide assurance to the Clinical Specialist Nurse and Matron via the completion of audit and quality initiatives.
The Clinical Lead will be responsible for a named area of in-patient care but provide support and leadership across the site. They will support staff well being ensuring daily challenges are discussed and debriefs held.

- Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council. RMNH/RNLD
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
- Recognised Practice Supervisor and/or Practice Assessor, clinical educator or equivalent. Must be achieved within 6 months
- Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing clinical supervision OR willingness to work towards within 6 months
Experience
