Magnolia unit provides rehabilitation for adults presenting with a variety of clinical conditions including post-operative orthopaedic surgery, decreased mobility after a fall, exacerbation of a long-term condition, recovery from acute medical problems, deconditioning following an extended hospital stay.

Many of our patients have multiple pathologies and complex needs that require comprehensive assessment by the multi-disciplinary team. As a Band 5 OT you will be supported with a caseload and will be actively planning, assessing and evaluating the patient needs. This includes a variety of OT assessments, goal setting, treatment planning, completing outcome measures and discharge planning. We endeavour to support your learning and development formally through a robust appraisal process and regular supervision by the Team lead. There are internal learning opportunities throughout the trust.

Our Therapy Service on the Magnolia Unit is supported by an experienced Team Lead Occupational Therapist, Team Lead Physiotherapist and Integrated Therapy Clinical Lead.

This is an exciting time to join our services, as we are in the process of developing the rehabilitation services to provide a streamlined patient pathway across our rehabilitation services.

  • To apply a high level of understanding of the effect of disability and provide training and advice on lifestyles changes and adaptations to the client's social and physical environment.
  • To develop skills working with clients with complex postural management and specialist seating needs

About us

North Mid is part of North Central London integrated care system - consisting of the NHS and Local authority organisations in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey. As with other ICS's, we are working increasingly closely with partners and indeed many of our financial and performance objectives are measured at this system level. Whilst all organisations remain as standalone, statutory bodies we have an ICS infrastructure for making shared decisions and agreeing shared approaches.

We are proud of our staff and want to ensure their training allows them to provide excellent clinical care. We are also a training unit for medical students from UCL and St George's University Grenada, and for nursing and midwifery students from Middlesex and City Universities.
