An employee's first impressions of an organisation have a significant impact on their integration within the team and job satisfaction - CIPD
The Recruitment Team is critical to the organisations success. 183 people have experienced our recruitment service in the last year to start their journey with the ROH, whether that be honorary contracts, rotating doctors or substantive staff. Their recruitment experience is paramount to their future career with the organisation and the wider NHS. There's no second chance to make a first impression
The incumbent of the role will supervise a passionate team, who work hard to achieve their objectives. The supervision will include a Medical Staffing function. Whilst it would be desirable that we recruited someone who had experience of Medical Staffing, it is not essential.
Inclusion and belonging is at the heart of everything we do at the ROH. We're incredibly proud to be 26th most inclusive company in the UK (voted by Inclusive Companies). This post will have an incredibly significant role in improving how we create equitable opportunities for all.
With that in mind we're seeking someone with a passion for inclusion and an innovative mindset. We want someone who is great at building team performance and engagement. Experience of working in a recruitment function in the public sector or providing for the public sector would be essential. The person specification will demonstrate all that we need and want from applicants.
Main duties of the job
Provide day-to-day leadership of the recruitment and Medical Staffing function, with autonomy and limited supervision.
Work closely with the ESR team, Payroll and line managers to ensure seamless hiring of candidates and ESR inputting post appointment.
Ensure compliance with employment legislation and regulation in adherence with trust policies and procedures.
Take a key focus in the evaluation of candidate experience and make necessary improvements to recruitment practice, such as improving how recruitment can be more inclusive.
Drive high performance across the team.
Provide cross cover when staff are absent within the team, ensuring no drop in performance for our stakeholders when staff are absent.
To be accountable for the delivery of legally compliant recruitment standards, procedures, and best practice and to work with colleagues to ensure a consistent approach is followed across the Trust.
Use a Quality Improvement (QI) approach towards service improvements.
Ensure compliance with GDPR
Ensure complaints around recruitment practices are investigated timely.
Accurately complete FOI requests on behalf of recruitment
To accurately provide regional, local and national returns in a timely manner.
Attend interview panels for high profile posts or where best practice monitoring is required.
Provide recommendations to HR policies and procedures. May be required to be a policy author and implementer with support as part of the HR Policy Development Group.
