Children and Young Peoples (CYP) Eating Disorders Intensive Pathway Team Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a registered mental health nurse to join our intensive pathway for our young people and their families.

This pathway has two teams:

The Day Programme is a unit which is still in its first 12 months of being open. The day programme is a allows 8 young people and their carers to attend together. To offer an enhanced level of care in the community to support families to avoid needing inpatient eating disorder care or provide a step down into a specialist environment from a paediatric refeeding admission. The programme is between 4 to 6 weeks of a time limited programme of interventions for young people and their family members delivered by a multidisciplinary team.

The CYP intensive community pathway will be a service development. To support design and implementation of the pathway and skill up the multidisciplinary team working in this team. Alongside the Consultant and Service Manger.

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, motivated and able to lead and upskill the multidisciplinary team to deliver this exciting service. You will have the support of an amazing senior Eating Disorders team for supervision, reflective practice and development.

    Job responsibilities

    The team manger will be responsible for the day to day team management to ensure the smooth running of the intensive pathway, including referral, assessment, patient allocation and discharge processes. You will ensure that service access and delivery is efficient, effective, evidence based and family focused on the needs of the young person and their family.

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • Registered with the NMC
    • Diploma/Degree qualification in Nursing- mental health


    Desirable

    • Leadership Course- 21 CLP


    Experience (paid/unpaid)

    Essential

    • Interest in working with Children & Young people with Eating Disorders
    • Experience of caseload management and throughput
    • Experience of managing a clinical team including recruitment, supervision and management of staff
    • Experience of training staff
    • Experience of effective partnership working, with external providers


    Desirable

    • Experience of working in CYP Eating Disorders service
    • Experience of working in a Day Programme
    • Experience in providing a family focused intervention
    • Experience in using FBT, FT-AN or multi family therapy


    Skills, knowledge, abilities

    Essential

    • Demonstrates an appropriate level of skills and knowledge for the job banding as an Nurse
    • Ability to assess complex health & wellbeing needs/conditions & develop, monitor & review care plans which facilitate the individual's recovery
    • Demonstrates ability to assess and manage risk
    • Understands safeguarding responsibilities policy and procedure
    • Good interpersonal skills enabling therapeutic alliances to be developed & maintained with patients who have multiple & complex needs and their families
    • Able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, actively engaging in and managing and supporting duty rotas, training and skills development
    • Demonstrate the ability to build strong partnerships with external agencies and develop joint planning and support arrangements
    • Able to confidently and safely plan for and manage change and transition
    • Demonstrates strong leadership skill and qualities and ability to support others through periods of change

    • Experience of leading on investigations i.eformal complaints procedure
