Working as part of Devon Partnership NHS Trust, you will make a difference to people’s lives from the moment you start.

Salus Ward
We are embarking on an exciting £11.8 million pound project to build a new 16-bed adult mental health ward at Torbay hospital. The new ward - Salus Ward - will be located near our existing Haytor ward and together the wards will provide 32 adult beds for the population of Torbay, South and West Devon.

This new development will mean that more people can be treated closer to home and will void us having to send people out of area.

Having closer inpatient provision will enable greater in-reach from our Home Treatment and Community Mental Health teams, enabling better planning of care, reductions in overall lengths of stay, improvements in safety and patient experience.

The new facility will create a centre on two floors providing Salus Ward, treatment and therapy rooms and offices. The upper ground floor will contain the main public entrance leading to a reception and waiting area, a family visiting room, therapy spaces, offices and other rooms laid out around a central open courtyard. The lower ground floor will have the staff entrance leading to staff facilities.

With the new ward due to complete in Spring 2022 and open in June 2022, this is a great time to join us and be part of the team to support the successful opening and running of the new ward.
Haytor Ward
Haytor is a multi-disciplinary team providing a service for adults with a mental health illness. We are a busy, motivated and interesting team who value working together.
