**THE JOB DESCRIPTION FOR THIS POST IS PENDING ROYAL COLLEGE APPROVAL**

EPUT is looking to appoint an enthusiastic NHS Locum Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Adult Psychiatry in Non-Psychosis Pathway team based at Chelmsford & Essex centre and covering the districts of Chelmsford, Braintree, Witham and Maldon. The vacancy is for one year fixed term contract initially.

The post holder will have shared responsibility for the clinical care of the patients within the mental health clusters 1-8 who are deemed to require secondary mental health intervention and will be expected to work closely with the team manager to ensure the provision of an effective service.

The post holder in the Non-Psychosis pathway team will be one of two dedicated medical leads for that service. It is expected that the two Consultants will work together to provide clinical leadership to the team as well as promoting true multidisciplinary team working. There is appropriate support for the consultants who are expected to cover each other during periods of planned leave.

Main duties of the job

The role involves regular reviews of patients who have already been assessed by the Access and Assessment team as meeting the criteria for secondary mental health service within the non-psychosis clusters. The team aims to develop a comprehensive treatment package based on best evidence in order to promote recovery from mental illness including working closely with primary care colleagues.

The post-holder is required to work independently and accountably as part of a team of clinicians offering Mental Health services. Working collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users, carers, clinicians and other practitioners within the multi-disciplinary team in delivering services; providing a 7 day a week, 24 hours a day service for 365 days a year.

You must have full GMC registration and be on the Specialist Register, with an appropriate CCT or equivalent or be within six months of obtaining your CCT on the date of the AAC.
