Job responsibilities
Contribute to team based, multi disciplinary and multi agency based discussionsincluding safeguarding discussions. This includes offering professional challenge toensure the welfare and needs of the child remain at the heart of all decision making.
Contribute to the robust implementation of team based routine outcome measures.
Demonstrate awareness regarding assessing capacity and consent with children andyoung people. Where such capacity is lacking/absent, to know how to work within a legal framework in the management of clinical delivery.
Support the teams compliance around contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)and the most effective & impactful use of resources.
Support how the team meets its statutory SEND duty to work with partners acrosseducation, health and social care to better support children, young people and theirfamilies to achieve their goals and outcomes. This includes attending ECHP meetings asrequested
We provide a Multi-professional preceptorship programme that is aligned to the National Preceptorship Framework for Nursing and have been awarded the Interim quality mark from NHS England. Our programme is provided to all Newly Qualified Nurses, Nursing Associates, Internationally Educated Practitioners, Allied Health Professionals and Return to Practice Practitioners. In addition to the programme we also offer all preceptees the opportunity of enrolling and completing the level 7 (Masters) 15 credit validated module Preceptorship for Healthcare (AP7026).
Newly qualified Social Workers are offered the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment programme (ASYE) which is similar to a preceptorship programme.

The post holder will:
- Independently manage a specialist clinical caseload with support and supervision provided by senior staff via various methods e.g. face to face contact, email, telephone. This will include provide clinical assessment and the delivery of treatment programmes for children and young people with a diverse range of physical healthcare needs
- Consolidate undergraduate clinical experience, develop independent clinical practice, participating in continuing professional development
- Work within a variety of setting such as community, homes, schools, nurseries, hospital ward & designated Clinics. The service provides a blended offer of delivery including Face2Face and a digital offer (Attend Anywhere).
- Adopt corporate, clinical governance and best practice principles within service delivery
- Demonstrating a commitment that the voice and lived experience of the child and young person is at the heart of all CYPS decision making and clinical care planning

- Provide a range of health care based assessment and treatment interventions for children and young people (0-18yrs) and their families/carers within the designated team. Provision will be in accordance to the application of a range of profession specific models of clinical practice. This will include:
- Providing a holistic clinical/health assessment and delivery of intervention programmes for children and young people with a range of needs. Care planning will utilise a range of treatments, skills and options for use in both the home, community and school setting.
- A personalised and coproduction approach will be offered when working with families, parents and carers
- This includes consideration and identification of safeguarding needs and taking further action where required
