A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic part time, 30hours per week, B5-B6 Developmental Community Physiotherapist, in our Redditch and Bromsgrove Neighbourhood Teams. The role involves planned and urgent physio intervention to the local adult population. You will perform holistic assessments, develop individual treatment programmes and manage a varied caseload. You will have opportunities to work with the MDT, such as OTs, Community Nurses and Health Care Assistants. Our Neighbourhood Teams maintain close links with Worcestershire Acute Trust and local Community Hospitals, to promote seamless patient care. You will have an innovative approach and in return we will provide many opportunities for personal and professional development, with chances to gain experience in leadership such as service development and student mentorship. You will receive structured supervision from a Band 7 Clinical Lead to facilitate your progression to Band 6 level through a clear individualised plan.

Main duties of the job

Undertake physiotherapeutic assessments and treatment of patients within the speciality, who may have complex and acute / chronic presentations. To determine diagnosis and identify appropriate treatment intervention and maintain comprehensive records as an autonomous practitioner.

Plan, deliver and evaluate care for patients in partnership with MDT colleagues and together lead the planning, delivery and evaluation of all elements of the rehabilitation programme.

Maintain clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of patients and manage this efficiently and effectively with regards to clinical priorities and effective use of time.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Complete urgent and routine patient assessments.

Undertake the comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of patients, including those with a complex presentation, using clinical reasoning skills.

Assess patient understanding of physiotherapy intervention and work within a legal framework with patients who lack the capacity to consent to treatment.

Formulate individualised management and treatment plans, utilising a wide range of treatment skills and options to deliver specialised programmes of care.

Contribute to education and in service training of physiotherapists, health care professionals, physiotherapy students, carers, and assistants in physiotherapeutic management. This includes contribution to CPD of the MDT.

Contribute to the supervision of technical instructors, assistants, and students.

Knowledge

  • Good knowledge of physiotherapy in relevant areas
  • Awareness of audit

Experience

  • Experience of working in a variety of specialities

  • Clinical experience in specialist areas of physiotherapy

Qualifications

Essential

  • Diploma / Degree in Physiotherapy
  • HPC registration.
  • I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer

  • Relevant validated clinical course
