An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time CAU Team Leader within the Therapies directorate, to work across both our Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells sites.

You will be highly organised and adaptable and possess experience in administration and leading a team within an acute hospital. You will need to be able to demonstrate leadership skills as you will be a key point of contact for all administration staff.

As well as leading an admin team, the job will include monitoring all outpatient clinics, waiting lists, utilisation, inpatient and community administration and referrals all while liaising with our clinical teams and managers.

Main duties of the job

A good knowledge of patient access policies and PTL is necessary to fulfil this post with a good understanding of wider NHS relationships between GPs and the Acute NHS providers.

You should be self-motivated and be able to demonstrate good communication and organisational skills, along with a flexible approach to duties. You will need to be able to work unsupervised and be able to work to tight deadlines. The applicant should be able to demonstrate an interest to learn new skills. Resilience and influencing change will be the key to success within this role.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE level standard in numeracy and English or equivalent experience
  • NVQ 3 or relevant experience, or equivalent experience
  • Educated to A Level standard


Desirable

  • Educated to Degree Level


Knowledge/Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience of leading a team in a customer service environment
  • In depth knowledge of NHS PAS and EPR or similar administration system
  • Good understanding of wider NHS relationships between GPs and acute hospitals
  • Understanding of the requirements regarding patient confidentiality


Skills

Essential

  • Excellent computer skills word/excel
  • Computer literate and experienced in using MS Office packages
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral)


Desirable

  • Database management
  • Understanding patient access policy
  • Understanding of Health Records legislation
