We are seeking a confident, enthusiastic team player with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to join our team as a Higher Level Dental Nurse, you will support the service by delivering high-quality care to patients, participating in administrative and clinical duties, and assisting Oral & Maxillofacial and Orthodontic clinicians with various procedures.
Main duties of the job
Provide patient care and support, including pre- and post-operative instructions.
Assist in clinical procedures
Take dental radiographs using CRIS digital radiographic application.
Maintain high standards of infection control
Provide chairside assistance for all three specialties (dental, orthodontic, and oral surgery).
Undertake specialist care procedures, including IV sedation and dental radiography.
Demonstrate knowledge of COSHH, IRR & IRMER 2017.
Enter accurate data into electronic patient record notes.
Complete regular Quality Assurance processes
Mentor and supervise learners (dental students or trainee dental nurses).
Develop own knowledge and skills, maintaining continuing professional development in line with GDC requirements and PDP
Establish and maintain effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues.
Overcome communication barriers (e.g., language, cultural).
Work flexibly to maintain an effective and efficient service.
Adaptable to work in different clinical environments at short notice.
Flexible regarding working hours to maintain an effective service.
Comply with GDC professional standards.
Overall, this role requires a Dental Nurse to be highly skilled in both clinical and administrative tasks, with excellent communication and teamwork skills. They must also be adaptable, flexible, and committed to ongoing professional development.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC Pin within the next 2-3 months. Please note an NMC PRN Pin is not a full NMC Pin and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.
The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receivea full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely.
