This is a rare opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse band 5/6 to come and join our multi-disciplinary team.
The Later Life Team provides mental health care for older adults who have a severe mental health condition within the beautiful Tewkesbury, Cheltenham and North Cotswolds area.
We are seeking a motivated and caring individual to join our well established and progressive multi-disciplinary team. We can offer an opportunity to develop your skills and experience and to contribute to the development of a high-quality service alongside the mental health transformation of services.
This is a full-time post. At band 5/6. With the opportunity for band 5s to progress to a band 6 via a competence framework.
The team provides a planned needs lead 9-5 service. The hours are 37.5 per week. 'Flexible' working arrangements will be considered. Any request will be set against genuine operational requirements and limitations and it is not obligatory for a manager to accede to the request.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity for a community mental health nurse who has some experience of working with older adults and caring for individuals with Enduring Mental Health problems. The post will include care coordinating a designated caseload, working within CPA Policy and associated countywide risk procedures, travelling independently, use of IT skills and a working knowledge of legislation regarding safeguarding vulnerable adults, the MHA and MCA.

We provide a Multi-professional preceptorship programme that is aligned to the National Preceptorship Framework for Nursing and have been awarded the Interim quality mark from NHS England. Our programme is provided to all Newly Qualified Nurses, Nursing Associates, Internationally Educated Practitioners, Allied Health Professionals and Return to Practice Practitioners. In addition to the programme we also offer all preceptees the opportunity of enrolling and completing the level 7 (Masters) 15 credit validated module Preceptorship for Healthcare (AP7026).
Newly qualified Social Workers are offered the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment programme (ASYE) which is similar to a preceptorship programme.
