Registered Mental Health Nurses – Secure Services The role Relocation package up to £8K Refer a friend scheme applies – both earn up to £500 – for existing staff
We’re searching for qualified and experienced registered mental health nurses for exciting new roles within our Secure Services Directorate at Langdon Hospital in Dawlish.
- Are you an experienced, committed and dynamic mental health nurse who wants to use their skills to make a difference?
- Can you work effectively with those we care for, their families, clinicians, staff and other stakeholders to deliver exceptional quality care that changes people’s lives?
- Have you ever wanted to live and work in one of the UK’s most beautiful areas?
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) you will use your skills, knowledge and understanding of mental health care to assess patients, then develop, implement and evaluate a programme of care for them.
The Secure Services Directorate can be challenging, but the work is highly rewarding. As a trust, we embrace the recovery approach, embracing a holistic approach to care. You will be willing to lead, inspiring your colleagues to deliver care that helps patients on the road to recovery.
This is an exciting time to be joining us as we continue to grow and improve. We’re committed to helping you become the best you can be and offer significant opportunities for development, alongside an attractive benefits package and a rewarding working environment.
You will be passionate about making a difference to people’s lives. You will be responsible for managing and directing the care of some of the most vulnerable people we are responsible for, many of whom will have complex and ongoing needs.
You will use your skills and experience to develop packages of treatment that focus on recovery, where possible, helping the people we care for to regain some independence. We call it ‘inspiring hope – together’.
An experienced and qualified nurse, you will be able to demonstrate specific examples of how your involvement has improved patient care, the patient experience and how you have influenced teams to deliver high-quality care.
The role involves deputising for more senior staff and setting an example for other members of staff. You will exemplify the recovery approach, taking a holistic approach to care that involves the entire person.
Personally, you will be a clear and confident communicator, capable of interacting and working effectively with people who use our services, their families and carers, staff and stakeholders from all backgrounds.
Working independently, you will make decisions that change lives every single day.
Due to the nature of the role, all staff are required to both attend and pass a physical restraint assessment as you may be involved in restraint incidents on a regular basis. This is a requirement to ensure we meet the needs of our patients and remain effective in maintaining the safety and wellbeing of all.
Our Secure Services are recognised as being some of the best in the country with a nationally recognised Recovery College on site – The Discovery Centre.
We provide a positive environment in which to deliver high quality care, therapy and recreation. The overall focus of care within our Secure Service is upon personal recovery – supporting people to attain their goals, to achieve a sense of hope, opportunity and control and to move towards independence.
