Develop your paediatric nursing career at Imperial working with the WLCH team. At St Marys there are five world-renowned hospitals, we are full of opportunity for experienced paediatric nurses looking for progression and development of new skills.
We are looking for an experienced paediatric nurse to join our dynamic team of Paediatric Site Practitioners.
The role delivers expert advice and will practise expanded clinical skills within the paediatric department working collaboratively within the wider Multidisciplinary team. The post holder will be part of the paediatric resuscitation team attending all medical emergencies, cardiac arrest and trauma calls. Out of hours the post holder will be the senior paediatric nurse and will be the first point of contact for all paediatric queries.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide leadership and clinical support to paediatric clinical areas which include inpatient general paediatrics, Haematology/Infectious diseases, Critical care (PICU/NICU), Surgical day care, Outpatients, Paediatric ambulatory care and Paediatric A+E on a shift by shift basis. The post holder will also be part of the Paediatric pain service offering support and guidance on PCA/NCA's within the paediatric population.
Out of hours the post holder will work as part of the paediatric hospital at night clinical team to ensure a timely and appropriate response to patients' needs, in liaison with the overall hospital at night Trust team. The post holder will work with the adult Site Operations Manager in ensuring Trust policies and protocols are adhered to, identifying shortfalls and intervening as necessary. The post holder will assist the Site Operations Manager to ensure the Trust meets government standards and targets in relation to bed management and will balance competing demands between process and clinical support
