A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated and organised Portfolio Office Lead to join the Group Digital Services Team at Manchester Foundation Trust (MFT).

We are looking for skilled, enthusiastic, and dedicated staff with a delivery focus who can align to our values and behaviours. You will be delivering exciting change initiatives, service improvements and defined projects across our portfolio of work, supporting the achievement of the MFT Digital Strategy and wider organisational strategies and digital aspirations.

You will form part of a growing, motivated, and supportive team and will be well placed to develop your skills and knowledge.

Main duties of the job

This is a busy and rewarding role in a team which supports the transformation of services through the utilisation of technology in accordance with trust-wide business requirements. Your application must be able to demonstrate that you have a sound understanding of business change, project and programme delivery, have strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills, advanced IT skills understanding and working knowledge of digital change initiatives and the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Education to Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent level qualification
  • Evidence of continued professional qualifications relating to business administration/analysis, Prince 2, P3O Foundation, projects or programme management and planning, or financials or workforce


Desirable

  • Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent qualification in an IT or business -related subject
  • Management of Value, Management of Risk, P30 Advanced


Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • In depth specialist Understanding of portfolio management discipline and the application to portfolio planning, demand management, benefits tracking and risk management.
  • Experience of operating in a matrix management structure and securing commitment to completion of activities with colleagues both inside and outside formal line management.
  • Experience in staff management
  • Extensive involvement in the coordination and facilitation of governance meetings with senior stakeholders, including preparation of agenda and supporting papers, and accurate minute taking (actions and decisions)
  • Experience in the authoring of governance papers and reports on behalf of senior stakeholders, providing analysis and recommendations across a range of complex issues.
  • Experience in developing Standard operating procedures and KPIs for the successful running of a business office/large department
  • Experience in financial management
  • Advanced level of IT skills and fully competent in the use of MS Office packages: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, MS Teams


Desirable

  • Direct experience in a portfolio level function or service in a complex organisation such as NHS
  • Evidence of the ability to negotiate and influence others in a positive manner with the confidence to deal with different priorities and differing views in order to achieve change/improvement
  • Chairing meetings, facilitating workshops
  • Experience in developing or assuring responses to bid or tenders contractual arrangements, or project and programme level governance artefacts.
  • Experience in procurement activities, and workforce capacity planning and management, and vendor/supplier arrangements and controls
  • Administrator experience in SharePoint
