Ipswich Hospital are looking for dynamic, motivated and experienced nurses with acute hospital experience to join Stowupland Ward.
Registered nurses are a key part of our ward teams and support the senior team in providing high quality care.
This is an excellent opportunity to join our friendly and busy teams who are motivated in promoting the delivery of a patient-centred, clinically effective and dynamic service to our patients undergoing a surgical procedure. We are dedicated to developing our staff and there are various opportunities to continue to develop skills and a career pathway with the NHS.
Stowupland Ward is a busy surgical ward consisting of 27 inpatient beds. Patients are taken from our Surgical Assessment Unit. They are managed predominately under urology, general surgery, ENT and head and neck specialties. We work very closely with our therapy team to assess and re-able patients to provide safe and timely discharge. We also admit patients from Critical Care and work closely with the Critical Care Outreach Team to provide safe step down from ITU to ward care.
If you have acute hospital experience and are committed to providing high quality care, we want to hear from you!
Main duties of the job
The ward works very closely with many members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure that we are equipped to meet our patient's needs. You will undertake patient assessment to determine patient need, plan and implement their care. It is therefore essential you can demonstrate a commitment to effective team working and have excellent communication skills. We are committed to upholding the Trust values and strive to enhance the patient's clinical journey by ensuring the patient is at the centre of their care.

You will be joining a team of almost 12,000 amazing colleagues providing care to approximately a million people.
Along with supporting you to achieve your career goals we offer a generous pension scheme, unsocial hours payments (if applicable), 27 days annual leave on commencement (pro rata) and access to a range of NHS discounts. Our Staff Health and Wellbeing programme offer a variety of services. We offer a range of flexible working opportunities.
