Low Secure Senior Occupational Therapy in our Low Secure CAMHS Service Adriatic Ward.
An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Low Secure Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service at Ardenleigh Hospital for a Senior Occupational Therapist who is passionate and highly motivated to work with young people with complex mental health and neuro development needs.
Ardenleigh Low Secure CAMHs service is part of the provider collaborative, this service has received recognition through the National Autism Society receiving accreditation and currently going through a QNIC peer review. We have an incredible reputation and have successfully launched our new therapeutic model of care into the service focusing on a DBT approach to enhance recovery to all young people.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic, creative, and imaginative individual to be able to adapt and deliver high quality Occupational therapy within a well-established multidisciplinary team and to make significant difference to the lives of the young people and their families.
There will be opportunities for the OT to gain further qualifications and to attend training such as MOCA, Sensory Integration, DBT skills and ADOS.

Main duties of the job
The OT service is a well-resourced department that provides occupational therapy treatment to support young people with complex mental health and neurodevelopmental needs to move successfully though their care pathway
To support the leadership of a need led service designing and delivering therapeutic programmes in response to service user need which is evidenced based and outcome measured.
To provide leadership within the OT team and service to support wider multi professional teams in service delivery & development and high quality care
To contribute to meeting professional, service wide, Trust wide and regional standards.
Participate in annual development reviews and reflective practice opportunities
To work flexibly according to the needs of young people.
To engage in service development and provide leadership within the recovery focused model of care 'the encompass model.'
To be responsible for a clinical caseload of five young people and taken on the role of care coordinator.

Training and experience
Essential
- Diploma or BSC(Hons) In Occupational Therapy
- Evidence of registration with the HCPC
- Band 5 experience in mental health
- Experience in DBT principles and how to embed these into practice.
Desirable
- Band 5 experience in Children and adolescent
- Evidence of post graduate training in leadership and or management
- Experience of care coordination and effective communication skills managing young people/working with families and external agencies g people
