We are seeking a Systemic Lecturer/Tutor for our MSc Systemic Family Therapy training course

Based at the Psychological Therapies Training Centre, renowned for providing high quality training to students in psychological therapies, this course provides training in knowledge and key skillsto become a systemic psychotherapist. Trainees engage with range of theory,models and research with emphasis on adult learning principles, evidence-basedpractice and creative approaches.

Candidates will have substantial clinical experience, experience of delivering training and supervision, with a demonstrable interest in systemic theory and practice and understanding of the training contexts relating to Family and Systemic Practice. The course is strongly committed to addressing systemic racism and social justice in systemic family psychotherapy. We wish to recruit staff who are passionate aboutdecolonising and promoting anti-racist practice and privileging issues of race, culture, social justice and equality in practice, teaching and supervision, challenge marginalising practices and subjugation in allforms. Havingexcellent communication and organisational skills, being able to develop, coordinate and participate within all the training course. Successful candidate must be registered with the UKCP as a Systemic Family & Couple Psychotherapist.

This is an initial fixed term post for one year. Secondment can be offered with the agreement of an applicant's existing employer.

They will also have excellent communication and organisational skills, and will be able to develop, coordinate and participate within all aspects of the training course.

The successful candidate must be registered with the UKCP as a Systemic Family & Couple Psychotherapist.

The post will be initially fixed term for one year in the first instance and secondment can be offered with the agreement of an applicant's existing employer. Post holders will be able to work remotely when not teaching or attending meetings on site.

Person Specification

Education

Essential

• Professional qualification in one of the main mental health, health or social care professions with post qualification experience in mental health relevant settings
• Masters/Diploma level qualification (or its equivalent) in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy accredited with UKCP
• Evidence of continuing personal and professional development

Desirable

• Qualification in training/ education
• Qualification in clinical supervision

Experience

Essential

• Delivery of systemic training and teaching to a range of other professionals
• Substantial experience of delivering training and supervision to a range of other professionals
• Substantial experience of working clinically in a range of relevant agencies such as the NHS/ social care/voluntary sector
• Substantial experience of safe-guarding work and ability to evaluate risks in complex situations requiring analysis, interpretation and liaison with other professionals

Desirable

• Success in having research or articles published in professional journals
• Previous experience of focused work promoting anti-racist practices and privileging issues of race, culture, social justice and challenging marginalising practices and subjugation in all it's diverse forms
• Experience of delivery evidence-based systemic interventions

Knowledge

Essential

• Knowledge and understanding of national policy and strategic context of Family and Systemic Psychotherapy training
• Knowledge of research and evaluation

Desirable

• Familiarity with multi-media equipment relevant to training environments

Skills

Essential

• Skills in evaluating highly complex situations that require analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of options (e.g. formulation of complex clinical problems) within a psychological framework and to advise other professionals regarding these
• Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate effectively in a range of modalities and to a wide range of audiences (students of varying levels of knowledge, managers, commissioners etc)
• Ability to travel, work in a range of settings and work flexibly
• Ability to organise own work, act on own initiative and to meet deadlines
