To independently interpret, report and diagnose Radiology examinations such as musculo-skeletal, chest and abdominal, cross sectional, Nuclear Medicine or fluoroscopy imaging, the results of which will directly influence the management of the patient. You will provide care for patients attending the general Radiology Department and specialist areas as identified in your role

You will normally work without direct clinical supervision but will report to the Senior Superintendent Radiographers within the Directorate.

To supervise junior staff and carry out routine radiographic examinations both within and outside of the department to the standards required, and in a manner which maintains the care and safety of patients and the safety of others.

In addition, dependent on experience, the you may undertake a range of specialised examinations such as CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Fluoroscopy and be expected to work unsupervised in one or more of these areas from time to time.

You will be required to participate in the provision of an out of hours service as required.

  • Responsible for reporting in specialised field
  • Undertake radiographic examinations of patients
  • Provide care for patients attending the department including assisting patients when necessary
  • Liaise with staff across the Health Board

Education/Qualifications / Training

Essential

  • oBSc In Radiography or equivalent oHCPC Registration oPostgraduate certificate in Clinical Reporting oMaster's qualification or equivalent experience


Experience

Essential

  • oRelevant personal history of continuing professional development. oSignificant post-qualification experience. oRelevant supervisory / management experience oAbility to work with minimal supervision.


Skills

Essential

  • oGood communication skills - ability to liaise competently with stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds. oPrevious history of training staff.


Knowledge

Essential

  • oEvidence of participation in clinical audit oKnowledge of quality assurance and radiation safety policies and procedures
