Highly Specialist Pharmacist, Antimicrobial and OPAT, St Bartholomew's Hospital
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our expanding antimicrobial team at Bart's Health NHS Trust based at St Bartholomew's Hospital. This is an exceptional career opportunity for an experienced, high calibre pharmacist looking to develop their career, leadership as well as clinical skills in antimicrobial stewardship and Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT).
The successful candidate will liaise closely with the Lead Pharmacist for Antimicrobials and be a core member of the Barts Health antimicrobial / microbiology team. They will work closely with microbiology, clinical teams, OPAT team and infection control team at St Bartholomew's Hospital. The postholder will provide specialist advice to patients, medical and multidisciplinary care teams on antimicrobial treatment by attending ward rounds or OPAT MDT meetings and be a key active member of the Trust Antimicrobial Review Committee.
Main duties of the job
To lead, deliver, and develop pharmacy services to the Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) team across St Bartholomew's Hospital in accordance with national standards and local priorities. To ensure that antimicrobials are used safely and effectively in OPAT.
The aim of this post will be to assist the Head of Pharmacy in the provision of antimicrobial stewardship and responsibilities in line with the priorities of the team across St Bartholomew's Hospital and as directed by the clinical network boards. The post holder will work under the leadership of the Lead Antimicrobial Pharmacist, and with the core antimicrobial pharmacist team to support with its duties. The postholder will be a key member of the trust Antimicrobial Review Committee and actively participate in activities.

- Significant experience of working as a registered clinical pharmacy practitioner at a minimum of Band 7 level or equivalent
- Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide patient care
